My partner, Bernadette Watters, and I agreed on a theme of life. I chose to represent life as flower life. This mosaic includes fanciful flowers made with smalti using the shag rug technique as well as flowers made of pottery, layered glass teardrops, fused glass, and spiny shells. What makes these flowers interesting? Their 3D quality, layering of materials and the diversity of materials.
