Forest Waking

As the starting point of a collaboration, I was inspired by a photo I took of a spectacular tree trunk with deeply textured bark. Fooling around with the digital photo, I happened upon a rainbow coloration that I really loved, and when my collaboration partner and I were thinking about what we might want to do together for this project, I rediscovered the photo. To make my portion I used lots of slate, particularly Red Dog slate supplied by Rachel Sager, as well as many colors of Italian smalti.
